On June 20, 1945 the Victory Banner was delivered from #Berlin to #Moscow. On April 30, 1945, Soviet troops commenced the assault on Reichstag. The banner was to be hoisted on the roof by the Soviet servicemen Meliton Kantaria and Mikhail Yegorov.
